As the sun rises...

It's been almost a month since I moved back here. I've kinda managed to settle in now, even though I've been re-christined as "The guy from Canada" by pretty much everyone here. Seems to add to my status. I've had people do a 180 degree turn in their attitude towards me once they found out I came from there. Wierd.

It's mid October, and it's still 44 degrees celsius outside. Now Ramadan is upon us. That time of the year when life in the Middle East as we know it grinds to a halt and take a tone of even more craziness. Pretty much no work gets done, traffic increases tenfold just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, and the local seems to get more irritable and crazed with every passing minute of fasting. This aggression is most noticable on the road; the insane number of accidents a testament to this fact.

I'm an uncle again. Feels so freaky at this young age. He's such a cute baby though, he was smiling in his sleep.
